Pluto — Zeroing & Renewal
The Abyss of Pluto: A Path of Transformation Shared by East and West
Have you ever experienced a moment when life seemed to push you into an abyss—when everything shattered, everything ended, and you believed there was nothing left? Yet after some time, when you finally rose from the ruins, you realized you were no longer the same person. You had become clearer, more authentic, and more free. This is Zeroing, this is Renewal—this is the energy of Pluto.
In astrology, Pluto is the lord of the underworld, the alchemical furnace, the force that brings everything back to zero. It brings destruction, endings, and a darkness that cannot be avoided. Yet its ultimate gift is something extraordinary: a complete and irreversible rebirth rising from the ashes.
Pluto represents everything connected to the depths—death and rebirth, dissolution and transformation, taboos and hidden truths, the subconscious and the shadow. It is not satisfied with superficial change; Pluto demands a total clearing, a return to zero from which true transformation can begin.
The name Pluto comes from the Roman god of the underworld, corresponding to Hades in Greek mythology. In myth, Hades is known as the “Invisible One.” Wearing a helmet that grants invisibility, he moves unseen and inspires awe and fear. Yet he is not a demon; rather, he is the impartial and distant ruler of the underworld, responsible for maintaining the balance between life and death.
Pluto itself is also a planet full of paradoxes. It is extremely small—its diameter is only about two-thirds that of the Moon. It is extremely distant, located roughly 6 billion kilometers from the Sun. Its orbit is unusually eccentric and tilted, so that at certain times it even comes closer to the Sun than Neptune. In 2006, Pluto was reclassified from a “planet” to a dwarf planet, completing a symbolic moment of identity zeroing and renewal.
In traditional Chinese culture, the ideas of zeroing and renewal resonate deeply with the energy of Pluto. The image of the phoenix rising from the ashes is perhaps the most powerful symbol of rebirth in Chinese folklore. True renewal, it is said, can only occur after complete burning away. According to legend, every five hundred years the phoenix gathers fragrant wood, sets itself ablaze, and is reborn from the flames—its feathers more magnificent, its voice clearer, and its spirit stronger. This cycle of self-immolation and rebirth echoes perfectly with Pluto’s own rhythm of destruction, zeroing and renewal, and transformation. This cycle of 'destruction and rebirth' is in perfect harmony with Pluto's energy of returning to zero and rising again.

A Dialogue with Pluto: Silver Sheen Obsidian × Labradorite × Iron-Nickel Meteorite × Pluto
Silver Sheen Obsidian is the anchor of the abyss—a powerful grounding stone that roots you firmly even in the darkest depths. It helps you see the truth and keeps you from losing your way or falling apart in the void, offering steady support when you stand in the deepest shadows.
Labradorite is the broom of reset. It brings deep purification and emotional release, giving you the courage to clear away the old. It illuminates the hidden shadows within, helping you release long-held attachments and buried pain, allowing the old self to depart cleanly and completely.
Iron-Nickel Meteorite is the shield of passage. With its powerful protective energy, it stabilizes your energetic field and guards you throughout the process of reset. It suppresses negative influences and protects you as you safely cross through the darkness toward rebirth.
Today, each of us is living through our own “Pluto moment.”
If the old self does not die, the new self cannot be born.
True rebirth requires a complete return to zero.
True transformation begins with total clearing.
Zeroing and Renewal are simply different stages of the same cycle.
To be emptied, stripped away, and brought fully to zero is not the end—
it is the true beginning.
The truth Pluto wishes to reveal to you is this:
There is a kind of wisdom that can only be gained after everything has been completely cleared away, and a kind of strength that can only be born after you face your deepest fears. Only when nothing remains can you truly become yourself. The process can be unbearably painful, yet it is the inevitable path toward rebirth. Just as a butterfly must break free from its cocoon—it can never return to being a caterpillar. Just as the phoenix rises from the flames—its feathers more radiant than before.
When you dare to return to zero, you can be reborn. When you dare to enter the abyss, you can become your true self. Zeroing is not loss—it is a return home. Renewal is not an accident—it is your original nature.
If you are passing through the darkest moment of your life—
If you feel as though you are being emptied, stripped away, brought back to zero, and you fear you may never stand again — On a quiet night, wear the Pluto bracelet and close your eyes. Imagine yourself slowly descending into darkness. You move through layer after layer, deeper and deeper. The darkness thickens. You feel fear, pressure, as if everything is dissolving. Yet at the same time, you begin to feel a truth you have never known before.
The masks you once wore…
The fragile securities you once clung to…
The identities that were never truly yours…
All of them are falling away, layer by layer.
You see the phoenix rising from the flames, its feathers more magnificent than before.
You see the butterfly emerging from its cocoon—unable to return to the caterpillar it once was, and no longer wishing to.
Ask yourself:
'If everything could return to zero, what would I be willing to release?
If everything could begin again, who would I choose to become?'
Take a deep breath and feel the darkness.
It is no longer something to fear.
It becomes like the womb of a mother—waiting for you to be born again.
Then gently say to yourself:
“I am willing to return to zero.
I am willing to clear away the old.
I am willing to rise again from the ashes.”
Because you know that behind every moment of zeroing, a more authentic version of yourself is waiting to emerge. Pluto does not promise that life will never break you again.
Instead, it teaches something deeper: that even after countless endings, you can still choose to be reborn — more authentic, more profound, and more free than before.
